Imagine a free tour, but one where you set the pace, there are no tips to calculate, and the guide never tires of your questions. That's what this is: a gamified virtual free-tour experience through Habsburg Madrid, narrated by an erudite guide who accompanies you step by step, square by square, revealing the real history and legends hidden on every corner of the old town. Two or three hours of walking, as a team, unhurried, with all of Madrid as your stage.
The route has 6 challenges, from Plaza de Oriente to Plaza Mayor, passing through Plaza de la Villa, the Barrio de las Letras and Plaza de Santa Ana. The difference from a normal tour is that here you don't listen passively: every stop is an enigma you must solve with your own eyes, observing what is truly carved into the stone.
In each challenge, the enigma forces you to truly look at your surroundings — counting figures on a bronze relief, deciphering a Latin inscription above a doorway, converting a date into Roman numerals — and that clue gradually reveals the real history of the place: why Philip II moved the Court here in 1561, how Velázquez was knighted before the king himself, where Cervantes has rested for four centuries, or which naval battle sealed the fate of the Spanish Empire. You never get stuck — the virtual guide always has one more hint — but you do come away with the feeling of having seen Madrid with different eyes.
